Thanks to the 2024 edition of “Watches for ELA,” ELA International has committed €500,000 to fund two research programs on Pelizaeus-Merzbacher disease (PMD), for which there is currently no treatment 

ELA International’s mission is to  accelerate medical research by financially supporting projects to better understand the mechanisms of the disease, identify the genes responsible for it, and develop new therapeutic strategies to fight leukodystrophies. 

ELA is the leading nonprofit funder of research on leukodystrophies. Since 1992, a total of 601 research programs have been funded, amounting 51.9 million euros.
